Weddington is a beautiful, laid back suburb of Charlotte located two to three miles south of I-485 (exit 57) down Providence road. I like to think of this area as casually elegant. There are beautiful, newer executive homes mixed with horse farms and moderately priced subdivisions as well as a unique “fly in” neighborhood, Aero Plantation, with its own private landing strip! Several small lakes and ponds throughout Weddington lend a tranquil feel to a number of subdivisions including Lake Providence, Lake Forest Preserve, Waybridge, Hadley Park, Providence Woods, and Skyecroft.

The people here are friendly and family oriented. The primary attractions to Weddington are the schools and lower tax rates. Weddington Elementary consistently ranks among the highest in the state and definitely has a nostalgic feel to it in its smaller size, community events, and parental involvement. Weddington Middle and High schools are also highly ranked and very desirable in the area. A number of private schools are an easy commute including Charlotte Latin, Covenant Day, and Carmel Christian. For the preschool set, Chesterbrook Academy is a newer child care facility conveniently located in Weddington and many of the local churches offer weekday preschool options as well.
