There are a number of traditional subdivisions in Weddington with full brick homes on an acre or more. These are the types of neighborhoods that gained popularity among new families moving to Weddington in the 1980’s to 1990’s with their privacy, large lots, and wooded home sites. These subdivisions remain popular today for buyers looking for a location close to the schools with privacy and trees that you can not get for the same price in a new construction home. There are no neighborhood amenities in most of these subdivisions but HOA fees are lower and many residents join the Weddington Swim & Racquet Club or a nearby country club for tennis and pool access. Most of these subdivisions are connected to county water and have individual septic systems. Weddington Hills
Weddington Hills is located on the the northern corners of Weddington and Twelve Mile Creek Roads. These homes were built from 1997 to 2004 by a variety of custom builders and range in size from around 3,000 square feet up to almost 6,000 square feet including third floors and finished basement areas. There are a few lots backing to a pond and other homes that are near walking paths to the elementary and high schools. Prices generally start in the high $500’s and up to the $800’s. Homeowners association dues are around $400 per year.
Neighborhood children are currently zoned for Weddington Elementary, Weddington Middle, and Weddington High Schools for the 2021-2022 school year.
Weddington Heights
Weddington Heights is located along Twelve Mile Creek Road just north of Weddington Elementary School. Homes were generally built from 1999 to 2003 with a handful of newer homes built as recently as 2013. Prices range from around the $800’s to $1 million. Home sizes are similar to Weddington Hills with fewer basement home sites in Weddington Heights. Homeowners association dues are around $250 per year.
Neighborhood children are currently zoned for Weddington Elementary, Weddington Middle, and Weddington High Schools for the 2021-2022 school year.
Weddington Brook
Weddington Brook is located off Weddington Road just across the street from Weddington High School. The homes here a a little smaller in both lot size and square footage. This Centex Homes community was built from 1998 to 1999 and the sizes generally range from 3,000 square feet up to 3,500 square feet. Lots vary from one-third of an acre to over an acre and there is a neighborhood walking trail. Home prices are generally in the $400’s. Homeowners association dues are around $400 per year.
Neighborhood children are currently zoned for Weddington Elementary, Weddington Middle, and Weddington High Schools for the 2021-2022 school year.
Shaver Farms
Shaver Farms is located off Weddington Road just across the street from the upcoming Woods of Weddington. These homes were primarily built from 1997 to 1999 by a variety of small builders and generally range in size from around 2,400 square feet up to 4,000 square feet including ranch and two-story plans. Prices generally start in the lower $400’s up to the $600’s. Homeowners association dues are around $85 per year.
Neighborhood children are currently zoned for Weddington Elementary, Weddington Middle, and Weddington High Schools for the 2021-2022 school year.
