MillBridge Neighborhood’s Covered Bridge

MillBridge is a large, planned community located in Waxhaw next to the South Carolina border. There are currently three new construction builders in MillBridge- Essex Homes, Pulte Homes, and Bonterra Builders.  Pulte just started building 7 floor plans here with over 3,000 square feet and prices currently from the lower $400’s.  Previous builders included Ryland, Ryan, and Mattamy.  M/I Homes has plans to start building soon!

A wide range of homes are available in MillBridge ranging from around 2,000 square feet to well over 4,000 square feet and priced from the high $200’s to the low $400’s. Basements and third floors are available on some lots and floor plans.

The Community House is unique from other neighborhoods in that it is staffed (by no less than a “Director of Fun” ) and is open for the use and enjoyment of the residents whereas most neighborhoods that have clubhouses are only open for special events or limited seasonal hours. Inside the Community House, you will find a large, open space with various seating options, a fireplace, and a foosball table. There is an attractive café area with counter seats where residents can come for homemade treats and specialty coffees. During my visit, I was served a delicious latte and a freshly made pumpkin chocolate chip muffin that would rival any coffeehouse. Neighborhood residents can also enjoy the movie room with oversized seats, an outdoor fireplace, and a collection of board games offered in the main gathering room. Upstairs, there currently is an exercise room which will soon be moved to a new area by the covered basketball court. The space on the second floor will then be available to be rented out by residents for special events.

On the exterior of the Community House there are three pools, a pool house, the Mill House, a playground, and a covered basketball court. The largest pool is a Jr Olympic-sized pool with lap lanes and a nearby pergola for a little lounging in the shade. There is an additional pool area with a large spiral slide and a lazy river. The third pool area is a zero entry splash pool with aquatic playground specifically for the little ones. Not surprisingly, MillBridge’s amenities were recently recognized as Community Amenity Package of the Year  for 2014 at the MAME awards by the Home Builder’s Association of Charlotte.

HOA dues are currently $660 per year. Neighborhood children are currently zoned for Kensington Elementary, Cuthbertson Middle, and Cuthbertson High Schools for the 2015-2016 school year, but always check with the school for any changes.
